In an unprecedented statement of commitment to athlete safety and well-being, the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) has requested that 100,000 high school athletes in the state of California be provided with concussion management services provided by the Sports Concussion Institute.

National Concussion Summit in Marina Del Rey

The Sports Concussion Institute, Leigh Steinberg, and Warren Moon present the National Concussion Summit in Marina del Rey, California.  This Summit is designed to impart current prevention, assessment, diagnostic, and treatment research to clinicians, parents, teachers, administrators, coaches, and policy advocates related to sports-induced concussion that occur throughout the lifespan. A special focus will address the potential influences of “the culture of competition,”sociodemographics, age, and gender on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of sports-related concussion.  View the program here.

SCI Educate Parents

MomsTeam and Sports Concussion Institute begin working together to educate and inform parents, coaches, and teachers of the youth community about the dangers of concussion. It is our joint mission and vision to provide the information and education necessary to increase awareness within the sports community and to effectively enhance safety and preventative measures for all athletes around the most important health issue today—concussion.

SCI with Dodgers Major League

The Sports Concussion Institute facilitated pre-season concussion screenings for the Los Angeles Dodgers Major League and Minor League Systems at Dodgertown, Vero Beach, Florida.
